MAASIM, Sarangani (June 20, 2022) – Some members of the LGBTQIA+ light up the night of June 17 during the first-ever Maasim Drag Race Superstar competition in celebration of the 15th Kestebeng Festival and the 53rd founding anniversary of Maasim. The competition was participated in by 16 drag queens from the different barangays in the town. Accordingly, a drag queen race is an activity of doing drag for reasons ranging from self-expression to mainstream performance. Drag shows frequently include lip-syncing, live singing, and dancing. A drag queen is a person, usually male, who uses drag clothing and makeup to imitate and often exaggerate female gender signifiers and gender roles for entertainment purposes.
