ALABEL, Sarangani (June 14, 2022) – Some heads of office and representatives of the different departments of the Capitol lead the wreath-laying rites on June 12 at the Capitol grounds in celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence Day or Araw ng Kalayaan. In the event, the Capitol employees were joined by the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police, together with PCOL Nidomedes Olaivar, Sarangani Police Provincial Office provincial director. By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 28, issued by then-president Diosdado Macapagal on May 12, 1962, the country celebrates the Araw ng Kalayaan on the 12th of June of every year, commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898.
