Baganis from Alabel receive assistance from TESDA

ALABEL, Sarangani (March 29, 2022) - Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Isidro Lapeña leads the distribution of food packs and cash assistance worth P5,000 each to 25 Baganis (Kamlong Banwe) during the 27th Joint Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (JRTF-ELCAC) meeting on March 25 at the Capitol gym. The Baganis are composed of the Indigenous People and former rebels from Barangay Alegria in Alabel. They also received livelihood and skills training from TESDA, particularly on carpentry which was used when they were sent to Sumilom Island and Surigao for the TESDAmayan or the rehabilitation efforts through extending assistance to those affected households during Typhoon Odette last December. Lapeña also commended the efforts of the provincial officials headed by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and said “the presence of these individuals is the product of a good government management and effective peace and development programs and projects.” The secretary also acknowledged the Baganis. “Nagbalik loob sila sa gobyerno at ngayon ay katuwang na sa mga gawaing makatao kabilang na ang pangagalaga sa kalikasan at pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan," Lapeña said.
