Sarangani’s transport sector now has modernized PUVs

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 20, 2021) – Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 12 Regional Director Paterno Reynato Padua and Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 10 modernized Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) of the transport cooperatives in Sarangani on August 16. The modernized PUVs, wherein each costs P3 million were part of the Department of Transportation’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) that was launched by the Department of Transportation in 2017. The program calls for the phasing out of jeepneys, buses and other PUVs that are at least 15 years old and replacing them with safer, more comfortable and more environmentally-friendly alternatives. “Ang kagandahan talaga dito sa Sarangani is makikita ‘yung full support ng government officials sa pagsasagawa ng mga programs and projects ng national government,” Padua said.
