Sarangani’s legislative branch and Mahintana Foundation distribute computers to Glan BLGUs

GLAN, Sarangai (August 20, 2021) – Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta leads in the distribution of computers to the 31 Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) of Glan during the culmination activity of the Barangay Legislative Information Tracking System (BLITS) orientation and workshop on August 18. De Peralta said “the provincial government of Sarangani headed by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon and the 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan showed that this government is still functional and still performing its duties and jobs” despite the restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the computer desktops, De Peralta told the barangay captains that his office together with the 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan will also work out the provision of printers with scanners to all BLGUs in the province. BLITS is a flagship program of the vice governor which is aimed at providing a technologically advanced software developed as a tool to effectively carry out legislative tasks. It is implemented in partnership with Mahinta Foundation Inc. BLITs is aligned with Governor Solon’s Sulong Pamunuan program which also intends to enhance the capacity of the local officials through the provision of trainings for the formulation and updating of barangay development plans, legal education, transformational leadership, barangay legislation, parliamentary procedures and ordinance and resolution writing.
