Oldest Kaalaman para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran graduate, 72

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 28, 2021) – Bening Salway is the oldest completer of the Kaalaman para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran (3K) Project from Barangay Bagacay. At the of 72, she is among the 21 completers who received their certificate of completion during the graduation ceremony of the 3K project on April 26. Salway, a farmer and mother of eight, said “tungod aning programa nga gihatag kanamo ni Gov, nakaybalo nako musulat sa among pangalan, muihap og mubasa.” She added, “isa pud sa mga rason nganong kinahanglan mi makakat-on musulat og mubasa kay arun di mi mailaran ilabi na sa pagbaligya namo sa among mga baboy og mga humay.” The completers were also part of the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) program in Bagacay and were initially granted livelihood assistance such as livestock and seedlings. The 3K literacy project for the SAAD farmers was made possible through the collaborative effort of the agriculture and education departments and the provincial government of Sarangani. The program is also a tool used for the peace progress in armed conflict-prone areas. Each beneficiary was given P1,000 graduation gift from Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Deputy Speaker Congressman Rogelio “Ruel” Pacquiao, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta and the rest of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members.
