Kaalaman para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran boosts education in villages

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 28, 2021) – Bagacay Barangay Captain Dennis Torres (extreme left) congratulates Girlie Talino as he hands over the certificate of completion during the graduation ceremony of the Kaalaman para sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran (3K) Project on April 26. Talino, 33, is a farmer and a mother of four. She only finished Grade 3 and was not able to pursue her education. But because of the 3K program, she was able to further learn how to read, write and count which are the most needed skills especially when trading farm products. She expressed gratitude for the implementation of the 3K program and for the people who were doing their duties of teaching them every week since June 2020. “Dako kaayo akong pasalamat sa tanang staff nga naghatod og ani nga klase nga programa sa amoa ilabi na kay Governor Solon kay tungod ani, di na mi mailang sa mga tao nga naay ineskwelahan,” Talino said. Now that she knows how to read, write, and do basic math, she said she can already assist her children in doing their learning modules, and can use her gained knowledge during election since she no longer need to ask for assistance in reading the name of the individuals in the ballot as she cast her vote. The 3K project is under Sulong Karunungan which is a flagship program of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon. (Jake Narte-Joshua John S. Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
