Govt officials attack Kinam with Serbisyo

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (April 25, 2021) – Mayor Salway Sumbo Jr. (right) and Deputy Speaker Congressman Rogelio “Ruel” Pacquiao (left) welcome Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon (center) during the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan at Barangay Kinam on April 21. As an ELCAC community, various medical, agricultural, livelihood, environmental, educational, and other basic social services were provided in Kinam during the caravan. Kinam is one of the barangays in the province to receive P20 million funding for the barangay projects and programs from the Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) 2021 under the General Appropriations Act 2021 which will be implemented this year. According to Barangay Captain Ruben Sumbo, the priority project for the P20 million fund will be intended for the concreting of roads in the barangay. Barangay Kinam was once one of the farthest and most hard-to-reach barangays in Sarangani that required half a day of a bumpy ride with over 20 river crossings to reach the center of the community. Through the governor’s strong desire to provide access to the rural communities, the people of Kinam restored their hope and brought change into their lives. Having a closer road to reach the town proper was also one of the reasons why the former rebels turned to the government. Also present during the Serbisyo Caravan were Board Members Joseph Calanao, Arman Guili, Irish Louie Arnado-Beñola, Ephraim Galzote, Rheymar Dian and Corazon Grafilo. Dr. Grafilo conducted an eye check up to some residents of Kinam. Vice Mayor Jean Delos Santos and the rest of the municipal and barangay officials were also present during the activity.
