Frontline health workers take 2nd dose of Sinovac

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 12, 2021) – Some 139 hospital-based workers and other frontline health workers all over Sarangani receive their second dose of Sinovac vaccines on April 4 during the Covid-19 inoculation activity held at the Sarangani Health Care Facility, Capitol compound. The recipients of the second dose consist of municipal health officers, doctors to the barrios, nurses, medical technicians, pharmacists, radiologists, and other hospital employees who were among the first batch of medical workers who received their initial shot of Sinovac vaccines on March 7, 28 days prior to their second jab. According to Maria Razel Bustria, National Immunization Program (NIP) provincial coordinator, 95% or 139 of the 146 medical workers successfully received their second dose, while two of them were deferred or unable to receive their second dose due to history of allergies and edema. “We are looking forward na itong activity na ito, ito po yung paraan para ma-achieve natin ang full protection against Covid-19,” Bustria said. Despite the completion of the two doses of vaccines needed for each recipient, Bustria noted “patuloy pa rin tayo sa pag-aadbokasiya na i-follow pa rin yung minimum health standards kahit last na ito na vaccine.” (Martin Fernando Bernad Jr.-Jori Mae Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
