P43-M SVCO Processing Project in Malapatan

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (April 12, 2021) – Julius Delacruz (extreme right,) contractor of the equipment used for the Sarangani Virgin Coconut Oil (SVCO) Processing, oversees the process of virgin coconut oil making using one of the machinery, the Apron Dryer, on April 8 during the SVCO Commissioning at barangay Tuyan. Delacruz, together with staff from the Department of Agriculture Region XII, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and Provincial General Services Office, evaluated the SVCO-making process “to check kung nag-suit ba doon sa qualifications or standards na hinihingi with regards sa ipo-produce ng machines o kung quality ba yung VCO na mapo-produce,” said Josalyn Jomuad from DA XII. The P43-million SVCO Processing Project in Malapatan is under the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) of DA intended for the coconut member-farmers of Malapatan “to increase the income of coconut farmers by employing value-added approach in processing their coconuts into VCO.” (Martin Fernando Bernad Jr. – Jori Mae Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
