Police officer takes up Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children

MAITUM, Sarangani (April 1, 2021) - "This for the benefit of your family, friends and your relatives,” says guest speaker Police Lieutenant Riza Marie Carillo, Chief Women and Child Protection Desk (WCPD) of Sarangani Provincial Police Office (SPPO), during the culmination day of Women’s Month held at the Municipal Gymnasium on March 30. She expounded on the importance of Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children also known as R.A 9262. She also emphasized the offenses of Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or Republic Act No. 10175. Among the cybercrime offenses included are cybersquatting, cybersex, child pornography, identity theft, illegal access to data and libel, which could be associated as a part of women’s protection especially in social media platforms.
