Migratory raptors pass by Sarangani toward Indonesia

GLAN, Sarangani (October 7, 2020) – The provincial government’s Environmental Conservation and Protection Center raptor watch team has already counted a total of 34,142 migratory birds composed of Chinese Sparrowhawk, Crested Honey Buzzard, and Grey-faced Buzzard as of October 4, during the monitoring of migratory raptors at the Raptor Hill in barangay Rio del Pilar. The Raptor Hill gives an ideal view to monitor the exit point in the Philippines for the migratory raptors passing the country to roost in nearby Mt. Gulo and Mt. Taltak en route to Indonesia during the months of September to October. (Jake Narte – Jori Mae Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
