Gracia Care to provide quality and accessible education

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 6, 2020) – (From right) Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Director Allan Farnazo hands over a token of appreciation to Mayor Luis Chavit Singson of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur for bringing and presenting Gracia Care Educational TV in Region 12 on August 4 at the Capitol gymnasium. Gracia Care Educational TV is an educational platform that aims to provide quality and accessible education to students throughout the Philippines through free TV, radio, and online platforms. According to Singson, Gracia Care uses a “cutting edge” provincial distancing learning infrastructure to allow students living in remote barangays in the country to watch recorded lessons through satellite TV. “The service is free to students, as it can be carried by all cable tv operators and broadcasted over free to air TV and to an ordinary transistor radio,” Singson added. Accordingly, Farnazo said, the DepEd 12 is still looking into possibilities in adopting the technology for the distance learning approach in the upcoming school year as the Covid-19 pandemic is still underway. The event was supported by the League of Municipalities of the Philippines with Mayor Singson as the president, Jose Abad Santos Mayor Jason John Joyce as the vice president foriInternal affairs and Malungon Mayor Maria Theresa Constantino as the vice president for operations. The event was also graced by the Departments of Education and Interior and Local Government regional officials, and the rest of the mayors of Sarangani Province.
