Sarangani’s drug-affected barangays down to only 5

ALABEL, Sarangani (June 10, 2020) – Some of the 140 completers of the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) receive their certificates of completion during the CBRP graduation rites on June 8 at Sarangani Provincial Jail. CBRP is a government intervention in rehabilitating surrendered drug personalities and aims to focus on healing the body, mind, and soul through counseling and other therapeutic sessions. “We started with 160 na nag-enroll for CBRP but ang naka-complete lang is 140. Nakapasa ni sila tanan sa drug test na atong gi-conduct before graduation and all of them were tested negative, nakahuman pud ni sila sa 24 sessions na requirement nato and after this rites naa pa tay aftercare which is a continuation program nga maghatag sa ilaha og livelihood para makatabang in redirecting themselves didto sa tama nga dalan,” said Lizette Lopez, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) focal person. The certificates were presented by Lopez, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Director Naravy Duquiatan, PDEA provincial officer Jerome Valentos, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) OIC Raquel Panal and Provincial Jail Warden Manuel Sales Jr. “As compared to other provinces in the region, nagbaba jud ang arrest sa Sarangani and ang indicator ani kay gamay na lang jud ang affected and as of today, nasa five barangays na lang ta and we are thankful sa support na ginahatag sa atong LGUs, sa mga barangay captains and even sa atong officials,” said Duquitan.
