Sarangani scales up capacity of towns against Covid-19

ALABEL, Sarangani (June 29, 2021) – Sarangani Provincial Government distributes more essential supplies to its province-run hospitals and Rural Health Units as aid in its ongoing fight against Covid-19. On June 24, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) turned over some 1,000 Covid-19 test kits, personal protective equipment (PPEs), and disinfectants. Some dry fluorescence immunoassay analyzer, a portable and easy-to-use device that will provide automated and objective results in 15 minutes and an ideal tool to assist medical personnel to diagnose COVID-19 cases more accurately, were also provided. Federico Yadao, medical technologist of the PHO who led the turnover activity, explained the result of the said test kit has reference value, unlike other testing means which are “based on the line seen after conducting the test.” As a device designed for qualitative detection, the dry fluorescence immunoassay analyzer helps in finding out the approximate percentage of antigen a patient has in his body. Yadao also said that the additional tools augmented for the Covid-19 related activities are big help to strengthen the on-going risk-based targeted testing in the whole province.
