Sinovac 2nd dose for frontline health workers on April 4

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 1, 2021) – Some staff from Sarangani Provincial Health Office, Department of Health Regional Office 12, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bureau of Fire and Sarangani Health Care Facility (SHCF) take a pose during the turnover of the second batch of Sinovac vaccines on March 30 at the SHCF. Maria Razel Bustria, provincial NIP (National Immunization Program) coordinator, disclosed that the said vaccines are set to be administered on April 4 “kasi Sinovac is designed for two doses with 28 days interval, and the 28th day after we have rolled out this last March 7 will be on the 4th of April.” A total of 275 vials of Sinovac was turned over of which 146 were intended for the SHCF and 129 for the Dr. Cornelio Martinez Sr. Memorial Hospital. Bustria also said that from the 336 target vaccinees last March 7, “naging 275 na lang siya kasi may 61 tayo na na-defer who are senior citizens, individuals with existing illnesses and those who are contraindicated.” Bustria further explained that Sinovac vaccines are designed only for 59 years old and below.
