Sarangani Glan Community Hospital gets new ambulance from Sarangani Energy Corp., SOCOTECO II

GLAN, Sarangani (February 19, 2021) - Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta (7th from left) receives the symbolic key of the new municipal ambulance from power partners Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) and South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative (SOCOTECO II) represented by SEC HR and Admin. Gerry Desesto (5th from left) on February 18 during the Thanksgiving Celebration and OR/DR Inauguration at the Glan Medicare Community Hospital, a provincial government-run facility. Also present during the event were Mayor Vivien Yap M.D., Provincial Health Officer Dr. Alvin Alejandro, Department of Health 12 Regional Director Aristedes Tan, and other health officials. Mayor Yap expressed her thanks to the two power partners for always giving back to the community. For his part, Engr. Desesto of SOCOTECO II assured the mayor and the residents of the province of Sarangani that as long as their company and SEC are operating they will fully support the plans and program of the local government unit of Sarangani. “For 2020, SEC has turned over almost P9 million to the province as part of their share of the power generation profit of the company as mandated by law,” explained Engr. Desesto. SEC and SOCOTECO II along with the provincial government of Sarangani have agreed to use P2.2 million of that amount to purchase the municipal ambulance. The provincial government under Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon operates and funds municipal hospitals in Glan, Alabel, Malungon, Maasim, Kiamba, and Maitum.
