ALABEL, Sarangani (August 8, 2022) – Merhyl Kit Angeline Paraluman, Miss Philippines Earth finalist, paid a courtesy visit to the provincial government of Sarangani on August 8 during the flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol grounds.

Paraluman, the Alabel, Sarangani delegate in the competition, was among the top 20 finalists of the said pageant.

“I would really love to thank everyone who supported me in my Miss Philippines Earth journey. It was quite a journey because I was in Manila and Palawan for three weeks, so allow me to thank these people who have played a great role in my journey,” Paraluman said.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 6, 2022) – Jail inmates or persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at Sarangani Provincial Jail were given free dental health care and nicotine patches on August 5 in line with the facility’s Smoking Cessation Orientation through Ronda Probinsya’s Kahimsog sa Katawhan.

Under the leadership of the new administration, the Provincial Health Office and Provincial Warden collaborated for this initiative to come into fruition, aiming to make the Provincial Jail a smoke-free institution.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 5, 2022) – Provincial Administrator Atty. Ryan Jay Ramos has called a meeting of offices that handle different social welfare issues and disaster preparedness that need to be addressed during calamities.

This was in response to the recent flooding incidents and other possible disasters and calamities that Sarangani may experience. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the provincial and regional offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducted the meeting with the provincial administrator on August 4 at the conference room, JLC building.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 4, 2022) – Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arvin Alejandro said that Sarangani Provincial Hospital (SPH) is now "95% ready" to operate as a Level II hospital.

Dr. Alejandro told Governor Rogelio "Ruel" D. Pacquiao during the latter’s visit to the SPH on August 4 that "once accredited to Level II, ang magbe-benefit nito ay yung mga tao talaga kasi kakaunti na lang yung mare-refer natin sa mga hospitals in Gensan.”

MAASIM, Sarangani (August 3, 2022) – Some 50 beneficiaries received free health services and orientation in the Tutok Buntis and Tutok Nutrition Activity on Wednesday (August 3) in Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Tinoto.

The activity brought health education to pregnant women and their families as well as free dental check-up, laboratory examinations, ultrasound, and family planning procedures to the community.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 3, 2022) – After the two-year pandemic break, Sarangani’s Munato Festival returns in the limelight this November.

Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao confirmed on Tuesday (August 2) during the initial Munato 2022 multi-sectoral meeting that Sarangani will be celebrating face-to-face the province’s 30th Foundation Anniversary and 20th Munato Festival this year.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 1, 2022) - The Paaral Para sa Sarangan (PPSS) scholarship program continues its goal of helping poor but deserving Sarangan students who desire to pursue their tertiary education.

On August 1, some 57 PPSS graduates from all over Sarangani attended the Scholars' Recognition Day at the Capitol gym.

The graduates of which 13 were Cum Laude were considered by Glenda Revaño, PPSS program coordinator, as "more thriving" since they were the first batch under the K to 12 program, "kaya medyo matured na yung kanilang pag-iisip as they graduated kasi their perspective is employment-ready."

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 1, 2022) – After a break due to Covid 19, the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) Regional Management Committee XII-A hosted the first SOX-wide 2022 Regional Inter-School Taekwondo Poomsae Championship on July 30 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium.

It was also dubbed as the 1st Governor Ruel D. Pacquiao Sports Competition.

A total of 163 participants from 10 different chapters from General Santos City, Koronadal, and the municipalities of Sarangani attended the event along with their professional coaches, junior coaches, and families.

ALABEL, Sarangani (August 1, 2022) – Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao inducted into office the newly-elected Sarangani Provincial Employees Union (SPEU) officers on Monday, August 1.

The SPEU officers include Wilson Lapiz as the president; Cornelio Ramirez Jr. as the vice president for administration; Amelia Catolico - vice president for operations; Bonna Montefalcon - secretary; and Laurence Maulion as the assistant secretary.

Also, Baby Mae Butohan assumed as the union’s treasurer; Analou Santarin - assistant treasurer, and Arlene Cameros as auditor. The members of the board of directors are Nyline Plecerda, Rommel Rivera, Clyde Cyril Baculio, Badaludin Palati, and Calvin Polistico.
