ALABEL, Sarangani (August 30, 2022) – Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao assures victims of sexual abuse “naay gobyerno nagaprotekta sa inyo,” as he and wife Jobelle Pacquiao visit the Sarangani Home for Girls and Women at Barangay Poblacion on August 30.

The Sarangani Home for Girls and Women, formerly known as the Sarangani Lingap Center, is a center-based facility established in 2007 that serves as a temporary substitute home for children, youth, and women survivors of sexual abuse and victims of voluntary and forced prostitution.

MAASIM, Sarangani (August 27, 2022) – Declaring Mount Busa a local conservation area (LCA) would protect and conserve Sarangani’s “last frontier.”

Thus, Sarangani province takes a major leap towards protecting Mount Busa as the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), led by Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, held a series of public hearings for the draft provincial ordinance declaring Mount Busa as an LCA.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 25, 2022) – Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) officer-in-charge Teresito C. Bacolcol signed on Thursday (August 25) a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Government of Sarangani to formalize the partnership in the use of the Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment System (REDAS) software.

The REDAS software can simulate earthquake hazards, can be used in the impact assessment, and now incorporates multi-hazard maps including hydrometeorological hazards.

PinaLakas campaign launches in Malapatan

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (August 25, 2022) – Some locals from Malapatan town availed themselves of the COVID-19 vaccination shots during the launching of the Department of Health’s (DOH) PinasLakas campaign on August 24 at the municipal plaza.

This is part of the focused programs in the first 100 days of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and Governor Rogelio "Ruel" D. Pacquiao’s vision to boost the vaccination program in the province.

Gov’t delivers Tutok Buntis services

MALAPATAN, Sarangani (August 24, 2022) – Some 98 pregnant women from the municipality of Malapatan received free health services during the Tutok Buntis drive on August 24 at the municipal plaza.

The beneficiaries were provided Buntis Kits which contain diapers, alcohol bottles, sanitary napkins, and other pregnancy essentials, while some were provided dental care through fluoride varnish assessment and application and dental kits distribution.

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (August 24, 2022) – The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Region XII has conducted a three-day training on the Government Procurement Reform Act RA 9184 to capacitate procurement practitioners in the local government units in Region XII.

Procurement, as defined in the RA 9184 handbook, refers to the acquisition of goods, consulting services, and contracting for infrastructure projects by the procuring entity, including the lease of goods and real estate.

Pacquiao’s leadership continuously endeavors to bring government services closer to the people, his Ronda Probinsya flagship program with the Serbisyo Caravan para sa Sarangan has officially started its leg in Kiamba with Barangay Tamadang as its pilot site.

On August 23, Governor Pacquiao and Mayor George "Jong" Falgui, together with some municipal officials, department heads, staff and key personnel from the different line-agencies headed by DILG Provincial Director Samuel Camaganacan and other stakeholders, led the delivery of services.

Covid-19 vaccination campaign continues
