Sarangani Provincial Tribal Council supports Ronda Probinsya

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (September 2, 2022) – Officers and members of the Sarangani Provincial Tribal Council (SPTC) convened during the 5th Indigenous Peoples (IP) Congress on September 1 at Family Country Hotel and Convention Center.

Part of the discussion was the SPTC’s commitment to support the implementation of all the initiatives and projects of the Ronda Probinsya flagship program of Governor Rogelio "Ruel" D. Pacquiao.

Various Indigenous Political Structures (IPS) from the provincial, municipal, and barangay levels graced the said activity. The convention centered on various interventions aimed at strengthening the province's effective tribal governance.

SPTC key persons, including Chairperson Datu Fulung Edmund Pangilan; Datu Kubli Kusin, Vice Chairperson-first district; Makabatug Rodelo Malon, Vice Chairperson-second district; Fulung Edzel Pontong-secretary; Ma. Betty Katug-treasurer; Fulung Justino Maguan-auditor; Fulong Orlando Alvarez-PIO; Sarangani Indigenous Peoples Professional Association (SIPPA) program manager Fulong Romeo Martin; and SPTC consultant Bong Fulong Mnga’we Banwe Fredo Basino, attended the IP congress.

Also present were Sarangani Indigenous Peoples Resiliency and Advancement (SIPRA) program manager Fulong Men Mark Tumandan; Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Council of Elders and Leaders (MIPCEL) provincial coordinator Fulong Restituto Lantingan; Board members Irish Louie Arnado-Beñola, Jess Bascuña, Joseph Calanao, Ephraim Galzote and Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Datu Benjamin Donato; and Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta.

Each of them showed support by signing the Manifesto of Support, which signifies the "strong and committed support of all the SPTC officers and members for the implementation of the special programs of the Ronda Probinsya flagship program" of Governor Pacquiao.

The signing ceremony also symbolized the mutual understanding between the provincial government and the SPTC, its trust and support in realizing Governor Pacquiao’s vision, which is to bring public service closer to the people. (Joshua John S. Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
