The Serbisyo Caravan is part of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP)—an umbrella program under Executive Order No. 70, institutionalizing the whole-of-nation approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in the country.
Lizette Lopez, Provincial ELCAC focal person, said that this program aims to integrate government programs and efforts to actively engage the involvement of the sectors and communities in the farthest barangays.
Various offices and agencies made an effort to reach the site, including the Departments of Agriculture, Social Welfare and Development, Labor and Employment, Health, Trade and Industry, Agrarian Reform, Environment and Natural Resources, and Science and Technology; National Housing and Technical Education and Skills Development Authorities; Land Transportation Office; PhilHealth; Social Security System; PAG-IBIG; and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.
Also present during the caravan were the personnel from Barangay Tamadang Council; Regional, Provincial, and Municipal Task Force-ELCAC; Provincial Governor, Vice Governor, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Social Welfare and Development, and Veterinary offices; and the men in uniform from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Reservists.
Congressman Steve Chiongbian Solon’s Serbisyong Sarangan Community Outreach program, in partnership with the Merced Optical Clinic, distributed some reading glasses to senior citizens. Mobility devices like wheelchairs and crutches were also part of the assistance provided.
Barangay Captain Juanito Sampan expressed his gratitude to all the line-agencies who collaborated to bring different social services closer to the locals of his barangay.
He also acknowledged Governor Pacquiao’s effort in extending help “even before those years when he was still our Congressman.”
In his address, Governor Pacquiao urged the people of Tamadang to value the services and assistance provided to them.
“Hinaot nako nga inyong ampingan og mas palawakon pa ang tanang tabang nga inyong nadawat karon,” said Pacquiao.
Mayor Falgui also acknowledged the efforts of all the partners and stakeholders, and assured the locals in Tamadang that the province will continue its vision of delivering basic services to every Sarangan. (Joshua John S. Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
