In his message, Solon thanked and commended all the officials of Barangay Baluntay for their dedication to achieve great change in their community.
He also appealed to everyone to continuously adhere to the minimum health protocols against the coronavirus disease "as there are still reported cases from the nearby towns of the province."
Prior to the inauguration rites, Baluntay held its first semester Barangay Assembly and State of Barangay Address delivered by Captain Rais T. Bisaya.
In his speech, Bisaya extended his gratitude to the provincial government for the continuous support poured into their barangay.
“On behalf of the barangay council of Baluntay, di namo ma-express ang among kalipay sa maong proyekto gikan sa provincial government ilabi na sa atong provincial governor, vice governor og sa tanan natong mga provincial officials,” said Bisaya.
He also shared the struggles of the community before the project was installed.
“Since nagsugod ning barangay, wala jud mi katilaw og street lights sama ani sa gihatag sa probinsya sa Sarangani pinaagi sa atong halangdong Governor Solon. Dako kaayo ni nga privilege ilabi na sa among mga motorista kay dili na maglisod bisag gabii kay siga na kaayo ang suga sa dalan.”
Bisaya also said the lack of street lights before brought fear to the residents to walk at night, but now that their barangay is lit up, the residents are able to even jog at night.
At the event, municipal Mayor Vic Paul Salarda also presented the different programs and projects of the local government of Alabel to all of its barangays.
The good mayor disclosed that the municipal local government under his leadership with the help of the Sangguniang Bayan members will cover the expenses for the power consumption of the project.
He added, the local governments of Sarangani and Alabel target to continue the installation of the streetlights going to the areas of Barangays Tokawal and Domolok.
He also encouraged everyone to avoid worrying about the Covid-19 vaccination and reminded the people to refrain from false information regarding the effects of the vaccine.
The street light project was funded by the provincial government from the Annual Investment Plan 2020 under the office of the governor.
The project was also made possible through the full support of Senator Manny Pacquiao, Congressman Ruel Pacquiao, Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta, and the rest of the board members. (Joshua John Pantonial/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
