P19.3-M FMR breaks ground in Spring

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 4, 2020) – Officials held the ground breaking ceremony on January 30 for the 1.520-kilometer “Concreting of Barangay Spring-Sitio Nop, Barangay Spring FMR”.

Contract amount was pegged at P19.3 million.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon; Alabel Municipal Mayor Vic Paul Salarda; Atty. Ryan Ramos, chief of staff of Congressman Ruel Pacquiao; Engr. Adriano Nogodula III, construction section chief of DPWH-Sarangani; officials and residents of Barangay Spring.

Mayor Salarda recognized all the entities who have extended their efforts and support towards the success of the project.

“Dako gyud ang akong pagpasalamat sa atong Senador Manny Pacquiao, Congressman Ruel Pacquiao og sa atong Gobernador sa Probinsya para aning butanga. Ilabi na sa atong mga katawhan, buot lang usab ibalik sa lokal nga gobyerno ang pondo pinaagi sa de kalidad nga mga programa, proyekto ug serbisyo,” Salarda said.

The road project would link Barangay Spring proper down to Sitio Nop, said Engineer Nogodula.

“The construction of the project commenced last December 11, 2019 and is expected to be completed on April 28, 2020 within the given 120 calendar days if there are no delays throughout the construction period,” Nogodula added.

During the event, Atty. Ramos delivered the message of support from both Congressman Ruel and Senator Manny Pacquiao.

“Kabalo man ta nga ang tandem sa magsuong Senator Manny and Congressman Ruel, grabe gyud ang ilang gugma para sa Sarangani Province. For the past four years, makita nato nga more than P15 billion ang na pour out for Sarangani and for this year naay almost P1 billion worth of projects ang ihatag para diri sa Alabel,” Ramos said.

Ramos also mentioned the on-going construction of the multi-purpose sports facility inside the Capitol compound.

“After the completion of the sports training facility, it will be a way to make Alabel an ideal venue for sporting events and training ground to produce and discover high caliber athletes,” Ramos added.

For 2020, the Department of Agriculture allotted a budget of more than P500 million for the concreting of FMRs for all the provinces in Region 12 and from among all the recipients, Sarangani received the highest fund amounting to P350 million or almost 70% of the regional allocation for the continuous improvement of the rural roads in the province.

For Governor Solon, it is God’s favor and grace why Sarangani is flooded with so many favors and blessings.

“Sa tinuod lang, wala jud tay laing pasalamatan aning mga grasya ug panalangin kundili ang Ginoo tungod gikan ni tanang butanga sa iyaha. Ang Ginoo jud ang nag provide sa tanan,” Solon said.

As of this writing, the “Concreting of Barangay Spring-Sitio Nop, Barangay Spring FMR” project has already accomplished 80 meters of the 1.520-kilometer target.

Aside from the road construction which aims to alleviate the farmer’s burdens of transporting goods as well as providing easier access to the area, Governor Solon also gave an additional P1 million fund to Barangay Spring to be used to light up its streets, to improve the drainage system and to provide accessible water sources.

The “Concreting of Barangay Spring-Sitio Nop, Barangay Spring FMR” project was funded by the Department of Agriculture through the initiatives of Senator Pacquiao, Office of the Congressman and the LGUs of Alabel and Sarangani. (Joshua John Pantonial/SARANGANI COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE)
